Pulled a sickie to get off work and onto the water. After two months with no sailing, and several unsuccessful drives to the beach, there was no way today could be missed. Was forecast to be a cracker from early on this week, and yes conditions delivered. Warm, dry and WINDY.

Really annoying didn't get out until 2pm had to wait at home for ages for my new 4.0 and 400 mast to arrive. Delivery company said they would be there any time before 1. What time did they arrive? Yep, 1. Bastards.

Anyway, at least it did come, and it meant I had some new kit to try out. Nice. Arrived 1.30pm and the bloke in the van in front was rigging a 5.0 which surprised me. Thought 4.5 would be more sensible, since I had a feeling the wind would be picking up.

Was a fraction underpowered at the start, but later on at the same time as the sun making a welcome appearance, so did the wind. Seriously stacked by the end. Was sailing like a complete muppet though - rustiness due to lack of TOW really showing. There was a strong downwind rip as well, meaning that I was struggling to stay upwind all session. Had several short walks of shame. Sailing in boots is sooo gay, really stops you thinking about going for any moves since you've just got no feel over the board. So wasn't even thinking about forwards today - I was struggling with even the basics at times, let alone jumping/looping.

Not a very satisfying session since I was sailing crap, but great to be on the water again at last, so 3 stars. Definitely definitely worth missing work for :->
